Embarrassing claims as Gabby Agbonlahor says this is why NUFC will struggle to sign in January

Former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested that players “don’t want to live in Newcastle” in the aftermath of our 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.

The ex-England international names the weather and the distance from London as key reasons why it will be hard for us to attract players in January.

Agbonlahor, from Birmingham – a city branded as one of the worst places in the western world by Ofsted in 2013 – slammed the city, even going as far to say players would rather play for Brentford on a lower wage instead.

NUFC are widely expected to splash our new-found cash in the upcoming January transfer window in a desperate attempt to stay in the Premier League.

It won’t be easy from a footballing perspective if we’re bottom of the table and cut adrift, but professional troll Agbonlahor has instead ripped into the city and region when attempting to explain why we’ll have trouble.

One would question whether Agbonlahor has ever even been to Newcastle, other than when he played there at club level…

This is what he told talkSPORT after our defeat to Arsenal:

  1. Aye – nice one Charlie.
Tell everybody that if we have problems signing players in January it’s not because of our location – it’s just because we’re ****!
Sadly it doesn’t matter what you think – you’re not the one the club is trying to sign.
It matters what the players think and a lot of them have stated that they think that Newcastle is cold and too far from London.
The assumption that Newcastle can provide everything you want in life suggests a local boy, never-been-anywhere-else attitude, and does not reflect the requirements of globetrotting footballing-superstars.
So you are a world class footballer, you live in Newcastle and you want to jump in the car and go for a break. Where do you go? Shields? Seaton Sluice?
Okay – in words you’ll understand. Think of the Toon with Steve Bruce in charge. Now think of us with Howe as manager. Huge improvement but still bottom of the league.

…still got the Mastermind of this season’s shambles = JONES

    What’s changed – NOTHING

  3. I hear these brain dead idiots, most of them on talksport.
They have never been to Newcastle, Northumberland etc… They see lovely areas as back alley Rap Clubs with gangs and drug dealers, so best to just smile as those people, as we really don’t want them or their kind at our club or in our city..
We trust our new owners will recruit the right people, and if we get relegated this season then so be it, just delay’s our success by a couple of years.
Keep the Faith and enjoy the ride……
