The Callum Wilson concern facing Eddie Howe ahead of huge 5 days for Newcastle United

Tonight is absolutely huge for Newcastle United, yet it’s just one of two must-win games for Eddie Howe this week.

After Norwich, we’re back at St James’ Park on Saturday to face third bottom Burnley – a side we did the double over last season via a little help from Callum Wilson.

The striker scored twice in our 3-1 win over the Clarets in this fixture last season, however he could yet miss this weekend’s game.

Our top scorer is stuck on four yellow cards for the season, meaning he heads into tonight’s clash with Norwich just one booking away from a ban.

So, when he’s in a physical battle with former Mag Grant Hanley or closing down Tim Krul in a few hours time, we’ll have to hope he doesn’t leave in a boot that might just get him banned for Saturday’s crucial clash with Burnley.

Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Ritchie are both missing tonight after picking up their fifth yellows of the season at Arsenal, yet many believe they are out of form an replaceable, with the likes of Federico Fernandez and Jamaal Lewis capable of stepping up.

Unfortunately, our alternatives to Wilson up top are unreliable and unsuitable, so we’ll have to hope he avoids a caution against the Canaries!

  1. Wilson wants to stop clowning around, complaining to the ref and going down too easy looking for penalties and looking for free kicks.
He is a good enough forward to not get involved in all that.!
