The incredible moment inside St James’ Park just minutes after NUFC’s first win – Video

On our 15th attempt, Newcastle United finally served up the huge win we’d all been waiting for on Saturday, beating Burnley 1-0 at St James’ Park.

The atmosphere inside the stadium has been electric since Mike Ashley walked out the exit door after selling up to the Saudi-backed consortium, but both games last week felt pretty special. They were unrecognisable when compared to the Steve Bruce era, with the belief, noise and never-say-die attitude spurring the players on from first minute to last – even when times got tough.

After the full-time whistle went and the win was confirmed, Eddie Howe, his coaching team and the players walked around the pitch to thank the fans for their incredible support.

It was brilliant to see and it created a special moment at the Gallowgate End, with Howe, assistant Jason Tindall and several NUFC players geeing up the Gallowgate End.

Watch the brilliant moment below, captured by Toon fan Katie Metcalf:

You’d think we’d won the league, yet, in reality, we were still second bottom and just grateful to see us pull off that first win of the season!

What a club, What a great bunch of lads and what a set of supporters we have.

Imagine if we actually won something…

  1. I don’t give a monkeys what the pundits say etc for the first time in years I’m enjoying going to the match and feel we have a team that’s reconnected to the fans, that’s all we’ve ever really wanted, a team that tries and a team that appreciates the support and the club
