Newcastle United released a video of the players in training yesterday, showing Eddie Howe and the NUFC squad in good spirits ahead of Sunday’s trip to Leicester.
The good news saw Ryan Fraser back involved after missing the win over Burnley with a hamstring issue, however there were two notable absences.
One can be explained, with Joe Willock pictured in London attending a funeral this week, however Fabian Schar’s situation is a slight concern.
He isn’t taking part in sessions with the main group in the video below. Not only that, the Swiss international can be seen training on his own with a member of Eddie Howe’s backroom team around 40 seconds into the clip, suggesting he may be carrying a knock.
We’ll get a better idea when the manager speaks to the press tomorrow. Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about.

He did pick up a knock in our 1-1 draw with Norwich last week, but managed to play the full 90 minutes just a few days later as we beat Burnley 1-0.
With him playing every minute since Howe took over and being a key part of a side looking to play out from the back, we’ve got our fingers crossed he’s fit to play on Sunday!
