Sky Sports: Ex-NUFC star now available to sign on loan & wants Premier League return

Newcastle United are being urged to make an ambitious loan bid for former Mag Georginio Wijnaldum – who could be set for a return to England next month.

Sky Sports have revealed that PSG will listen to loan offer for the 31-year-old in January, with the Dutchman struggling for game time under Mauricio Pochettino since leaving Liverpool over the summer.

The report also states that he’s keen to come back to the Premier League, with Arsenal believed to be one club showing interest.

Since news of his potential availability emerged, Spanish outlet AS have released a piece claiming we’ve made contact with his representatives to sound out whether or not he’d be keen on a return to St James’ Park.

Wijnaldum only spent one season on Tyneside following a £14m move from Feyenoord in 2015, going on to score 11 goals from midfield in a campaign that ended in relegation.

This feels like a real long shot, but with a loan move in the offing and the player himself eager to be back in England, this is surely a deal our ambitious new owners will look at – especially when he’s exactly that our midfield needs!
