Another NUFC player now one booking away from a ban ahead of busy festive period

A few weeks ago, we saw Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Ritchie handed one-game bans after picking up their fifth yellow card of the season.

Now, we have two players walking the suspension tightrope after yesterday’s 4-0 defeat to Leicester City.

Callum Wilson remains on four bookings, while Javier Manquillo’s yellow card at the King Power means he’s also one caution away from being suspended.

So, if either are booked at Anfield on Thursday night, they’ll be suspended for Sunday’s clash with Manchester City at St James’ Park.

Alternatively, if one of Wilson or Manquillo is booked on Sunday, they’ll miss our meeting with Manchester United on December 27th – a game we would NOT want Wilson to be missing given their iffy form this season.

With that in mind, would it be worth Wilson picking up a yellow at Anfield, meaning he’d miss Sunday’s game with City but be fresh for that winnable game against Man Utd two days after Christmas?

Elsewhere, Isaac Hayden and Allan Saint-Maximin are two yellow cards away from a ban, with the ‘five bookings rule’ set to reset in January.

  1. There is nobody with more iffy form than us, that’s even if some players decide to turn up for the game.
I don’t believe people saying other teams have problems before a match because even with their problems they are far more consistent than we are.!
Look at all the problems Leicester were supposed to have before the match and early on in the match.
