Sky Sports have revealed that Tottenham are now listening to loan offers for Dele Alli ahead of the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has struggled for game time under two of the last Spurs managers, with yet to start a Premier League game since the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in September.
With us regularly linked with a January move for Jesse Lingard – a player who operates in a similar position to Alli – it would be no surprise to see us register an interest in the attacking midfielder who almost arrived on Tyneside from MK Dons many years ago.
Alli is no longer a young prospect at 25 and needs a move to resurrect what was a hugely promising career just a few years ago.
Given we are in need of Premier League quality players with a point to prove, a loan bid for Alli could make a lot of sense – especially if we miss out on reported top target Lingard.
Would you welcome a move for Alli next month, or would you prefer to see us look elsewhere?
He wanted to come to Newcastle while at MK Dons, so why not..
If he has the belly for it, he is an upgrade on what we have now.
