Confirmed NUFC team vs Liverpool – 3 changes, Wilson benched & Reds trio out

Following our 4-0 drubbing at Leicester last weekend, it doesn’t get any easier tonight as Newcastle United take on Liverpool at Anfield.

The team news has arrived ahead of the 8pm kick off live on BT Sport, seeing us line up as follows:

STARTING 11: Dubravka – Manquillo, Schar, Lascelles, Lewis – Shelvey, Hayden – Murphy, Joelinton, Fraser – Saint-Maximin

SUBS: Darlow, Clark, Wilson, Ritchie, Hendrick, Almiron, Willock, Gayle, Longstaff.

So, Eddie Howe has made three changes from Sunday, seeing Joe Willock, Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson replaced by Isaac Hayden, Jacob Murphy and Ryan Fraser.

Elsewhere, Federico Fernandez missed out with a thigh injury that looks set to keep him out until the new year, while Paul Dummett is missing once again as he battles to overcome a long-term calf issue.

Here’s the side Jurgen Klopp has selected, with Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones missing for the Reds after testing positive for Covid:

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson, Thiago, Henderson, Chamberlain, Mane, Salah, Jota.

SUBS: Kelleher, Pitaluga, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Gomez, Minamino, Tsimikas, Williams.
