Newcastle hit by suspension ahead of Man Utd clash, with duo also one booking from a ban

Isaac Hayden will miss next Monday’s meeting with Manchester United at St James’ Park.

The midfielder has started the last two games under Eddie Howe, but is suspended for our clash with the Red Devils after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Two other Toon players walking the suspension tightrope are Callum Wilson and Javier Manquillo. Both are on four booking for the season, meaning they’d miss our trip to Everton on Thursday 30th December if they are cautioned next Monday.

With Hayden banned and both Federico Fernandez and Jamal Lewis injured, we already have three players ruled out of Man Utd; who haven’t played since that 1-0 win at Norwich back on December 11th due to a host of postponements.

Here’s the message Isaac Hayden sent to supporters after yesterday’s heavy defeat at St James’ Park:

He is limited on the ball and another player who has regressed in recent seasons, but we could’ve done with Hayden’s fight next week.

Let’s hope Shelvey is ready to return and Willock ups his game after a few disappointing displays over the past week.
