Saudi consortium to launch ‘£6m loan bid’ & could attempt to sign former Man City forward – Report

Newcastle United have been linked with a double swoop for Anthony Martial and Edin Dzeko.

This comes from The Sun’s Duncan Wright, who kicks off his report by claiming we are willing to offer a whopping £6m loan fee to have him at St James’ Park until the end of the season.

The Frenchman hasn’t started a Premier League game for the Red Devils for over two months, but it’s claimed the Saudi-backed consortium want to make him their first big-name signing at Newcastle United.

Elsewhere, the same piece claims that we are considering a move for ex-Man City striker Edin Dzeko.

Inter Milan only signed the Bosnian last summer, landing him on a free transfer from Roma, however The Sun reckon they could look to make a quick profit on the forward after running into money problems.

Dzeko is a veteran at 35, but that hasn’t impacted his form in front of goal, with him bagging 11 and four assists in 23 games this season, with three of those coming in his six Champions League appearances for the Serie A giants.

I’d take this one with a pinch of salt – it’s The Sun and neither seem like exactly what we need right now – however we can expect to see a host of reports like this emerge as we edge closer to the January transfer window.
