Some intriguing new claims have emerged from Sky Germany this morning surrounding the future of Bayern Munich centre-back Niklas Sule.
They report that the big centre-back is all set to leave the Bundesliga giants after refusing to sign a new contract at the club.
His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, but Sky Germany report that a January move to Newcastle United is a ‘possible destination’ for the 26-year-old, with his departure from Bayern ‘as good as sealed.’
Sule has been linked with a move to Tyneside for a few months now, with BILD (a German outlet) and North-East reporter Liam Kennedy both crediting us with serious interest in the 6ft 5′ defender among others.
Signing a full international with Champions League experience would be some coup in our current position, yet they do say money talks – and it makes you wonder if that’s what he’s after when he’s failed to agree a new deal with Bayern.
With reported top defensive target James Tarkowski likely to be stuck at Burnley – who will be hugely reluctant to sell to a relegation rival – I wonder if we’ll turn our attentions to Sule; a player who may be available at a cut-price fee given his contract situation?
Won’t come on his own, pick 2 more German players look at the spine of the team MIDFIELD get 2 ball winning players who can control the tempo of the game. Then a full back and a scoring Center forward a new goalkeeper. Realistically we are stuffed sitting in the position we are in now

I would love us to get this deal done and get trippier. I think sule would definitely at some calm at the back and add confidence. Trippier is a good defender but also good at getting forward and had a great delivery. Another left sided player with crossing quality for Wilson would also be great. We need a CDM who can move back into a 3 also and maybe push shelves further forward.
