Sky Sports: Man Utd enter race for Toon target & Newcastle facing Lucas Digne battle

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have entered the race to sign long-term Newcastle United target Boubacar Kamara.

It’s claimed they have taken a ‘keen interest’ in the Marseille midfielder, who could be sold at a cut-price fee this month instead of leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Sky Sports state that he remains on our radar, but report that any move to Old Trafford could see Man Utd sanction a January exit for Donny Van de Beek; a player who has been linked with a loan move to Tyneside.

Elsewhere, Sky’s Rob Dorsett claims that we are interested in bringing Lucas Digne to St James’ Park following his fallout with former Toon boss Rafa Benitez.

However, it’s thought Everton will reject any loan offers and demand £30m for the Frenchman, with Chelsea, West Ham and another unnamed Premier League club also keen on the 28-year-old.

Given we have money to spend, while Chelsea and West Ham may prefer loan moves to cover for injuries to Chilwell and Cresswell, respectively, we may be the club most likely to meet Everton’s asking price? Time will tell.
