It has been confirmed by several outlets this morning that Kieran Trippier is on his way to Tyneside, with him set to complete a medical before putting pen to paper at St James’ Park later today.
However, eagled-eyed Newcastle fans spotted something telling on Instagram last night, with fellow target Sven Botman appearing to ‘like’ a post confirming we’d struck a £12m deal to sign the Atletico Madrid right-back.
The post was by popular football account 433, making Botman’s interaction all the more intriguing given he’s believed to be another top target of ours.
Reports suggest we’ve had a £30m big rejected for the Dutchman, as Lille are determined to keep their star centre-back, however it’s also been said that the 21-year-old is keen to make the move to St James’ Park.
