According to The Telegraph, Eddie Howe is considering a move to bring Eddie Nketiah to Newcastle United this month.
The report states that both he and Dominic Solanke – a player Howe brought to Bournemouth three years ago – are domestic options in our search for another striker, however Nketiah is seen as a more realistic target given the Cherries are chasing automatic promotion.
Nketiah is also out of contract at the end of the season and could leave at a cut-price fee this month, with the Gunners eager to receive a transfer fee while they can.
The 22-year-old – who is a close friend of Joe Willock’s – has 16 goals in 17 games for England U21’s and has bagged five goals in just seven appearances this season, with three of those coming in a 5-1 win over Sunderland in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup!
Elsewhere, The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards also reports that we’ll test Lille’s resolve with a second bid for Dutch star Sven Botman.
They rejected our first offer of £30m and appear to have insisted that the centre-back is not for sale, but it’s hoped their stance could chance if an offer they can’t refuse lands on the table.
However, if the Ligue 1 side do stand firm, The Telegraph claim that we’ll turn our attentions to Diego Carlos and submit a bid for the highly-rated Brazilian currently at Sevilla.
As for Lucas Digne, the piece states that we are giving the Frenchman time to consider our offer – £22.5m plus Sean Longstaff – but will not hang about forever after his initial response suggested he is waiting to see if Chelsea or West Ham follow up initial interest with firm offers.
