Andy Carroll scored two absolutely stunning strikes on Tuesday night for new club Reading…only for both to be cruelly disallowed for offsides in a heavy defeat to Fulham.
The first was an impressive bicycle kick into the bottom corner and the second a stunning volley into the top corner after bringing the ball down on his chest.
In the end, it was another former Mag in Aleksandar Mitrovic who ran riot, with the Serbian scoring twice in a 7-0 win for Fulham at the Madejski Stadium.
Watch both disallowed goals below, with the second an absolutely outrageous strike that might just have been nominated for FIFA’s Puskás Award had it stood!
Following his release from Newcastle United last summer, the 33-year-old joined Reading on a free transfer back in November, with some reporting that he took a hefty pay-cut to make the move happen.
Since then, he’s started five games for the Championship side, bagging one goal and an assist in that time.
