Eddie Howe has declared that Sean Longstaff still has a future at Newcastle ahead of our crucial six-pointer against Watford.
Longstaff has been heavily linked with a reunion with Rafa Benitez – who give the 24-year-old his Newcastle debut – at Everton this month.
Sky Sports even reported that we offered him as makeweight as part of a failed attempt to lure full-back Lucas Digne to Tyneside.
Howe has refuted any suggestion of Longstaff leaving this month, insisting he has been impressed by the North Shields native since his arrival.
“Sean has a long-term future at this football club,” Howe said in his pre-match press conference.
“I’ve been impressed with him since I came in. He’s been committed, trained well and earned his place in the team.
“Against Manchester United, I thought he was excellent. The whole team wasn’t particularly good against Cambridge.
“We’re looking for a response from the team and Sean is part of that team.”
Sell him and go for Van Der beek simple
