Newcastle and Watford are battling it out to sign Nantes midfielder Ludovic Blas, according to an ‘exclusive’ from the Daily Star.
Interestingly, he’s also represented by CAA Base Ltd; the exact agency representing recent signings Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood.
The former French U21 international has been electric in Ligue 1 this season – scoring eight goals – and only has two years left on his current deal.
Ironically, the two clubs linked with the exciting 24-year-old, ourselves and Watford, battle it out in a massive relegation clash tomorrow afternoon and Blas could be tempted to join whichever side comes out on top.
The report also claims that cash-strapped Lille – who are playing hardball over our pursuit of Sven Botman – are also interested, as well as one unnamed Bundesliga side.
Blas operates as a number 10 but can also play out wide, giving Eddie Howe another alternative in attack as he looks to bolster his attacking options.
He completed a £7m move from Guingamp two and a half years ago and has since bagged 26 goals and seven assists in 87 games for Nantes, with his strong start to the 2021/22 season coming after he bagged 11 goals and five assists last term.
