Diego Carlos edging closer to NUFC move & two loan bids rejected by midfielders – The Telegraph

The Telegraph have revealed that Man Utd midfielder Donny Van de Beek has turned down the chance to join Newcastle United this month.

They claim our perilous league position has put off the Dutchman, while former Mag Georginio Wijnaldum is also set to reject a return to Tyneside for similar reasons.

The report states that we could revisit a move for Van de Beek incase his stance changes, however it seems we are keen to bring in new player as soon as possible, with the club pushing to sign TWO defenders this week.

On that note, The Telegraph report that progress is being made on a deal to bring Sevilla’s Diego Carlos to the club, with Newcastle now hopeful he will arrive before next weekend’s crucial trip to Leeds.

Luke Edwards states that a ‘deal is there to be done’ with the La Liga side and a fee is still be negotiated, as the Brazilian is eager to make the move happen.

The same piece also states that we have been showing interest in Liverpool’s Nat Phillips and Tottenham’s Joe Rodon, with the club looking to sign two centre-backs this week.

  1. If they aren’t prepared to come on a loan basis, which represents zero risk to them other than their credibility then a) they are not credible and b) don’t have the right mentality to join our fight.

  2. Honestly don’t think it matters who we sign after yesterday’s debacle and Leeds winning today we are going down

  3. I agree with Tony after being at the last few games – it’s not that Howe has improved Joelington…

..all the other players have dropped off

Looking at our players one might think they were the lowest payed in the Premiership – sadly not, as Ashley rather than buy better quality, just kept increasing these players wages!!

And after hearing Howe’s comments – he simply is out of his depth – he has to go along with Jones to give whoever comes in a clean slate to get rid of the Shelvey’s, Fraser’s, Hendrick’s, Wood’s, Lascelles,

Another Toon fan who can’t get his head around the fact that Newcastle United are not the club that draw many fans insist they are.
How many Directors have turned us down?
How many managers turned us down?
How many players have turned us down?

So according to you they all had the wrong mentality / credibility?
