NUFC ‘ready’ to launch £21m bid for Augsburg star & new loan offer rejected – Reports

Newcastle United’s search for a couple of new centre-backs has led them to Augsburg’s Felix Uduokhai, according to new reports.

This comes from Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that we are ‘ready’ to offer the Bundesliga side around £21m for the 24-year-old.

The highly-rated German stands 6ft 4′ tall, being a left-footed centre-back known for his surprise turn of pace for a player of his size.

With us also pursuing a deal for Sevilla’s Diego Carlos, whos is right footed, it’s interesting to see us linked with another left-sided centre-back now a move for Sven Botman seems dead and buried for now.

Elsewhere, it looks like we’ve had a loan bid REJECTED by Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.

According to Fabrizio Romano, both ourselves and Tottenham have attempted to sign the Frenchman until the end of the season, but he’s said to have no interest in remaining in England and could consider offers from Barcelona, Sevilla and Juventus instead.

This comes just 24 hours after The Telegraph revealed that both Donny Van de Beek and Georginio Wijnaldum had turned down loan moves to Tyneside.

All three are quality players who could improve us considerably, but it’s not much use bringing in players who don’t want to be here in the middle of a relegation battle.
