Diego Carlos hands in transfer request to push through January move to NUFC – Sky Sports

Sky Sports have released a significant update Diego Carlos’ future, claiming the centre-back has now ‘officially asked to leave’ the La Liga side so he can complete a move to Newcastle United.

This comes from Sky reporter Kaveh Solkehol, who has revealed in the last few moments that the player himself is now pushing for a move to St James’ Park.

Sevilla are ‘willing to do business’, but Sky Sports insist that the ‘price has to be right’ for the Spaniards, who have rejected two of our bids so far for the 28-year-old.

Keith Downie has also added to this ‘breaking news’ just moments later, stating that we are in ‘advanced discussions’ with Sevilla over a deal in the region of £30m.

“Carlos has just officially told Sevilla he wants to leave.

“He wants to move to Newcastle.

“I told you the player wants to come, Sevilla are willing to do business at the right price.

It’s been reported in Spain he may have a release clause of around €80m.

“Newcastle are arguably the richest club in the world, but they won’t want to pay over the odds and have other targets.”
