Some interesting claims have emerged from talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook regarding a potential move to Tyneside for Dele Alli.
Not only is the Spurs midfielder represented by CAA Base Ltd – the same agency who took care of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood’s January moves to Newcastle – it’s claimed that Eddie Howe is a big fan of the 25-year-old
Crook claims that Howe tried and failed to bring the England international to Bournemouth on TWO separate occasions, but thinks the 45-year-old may have the financial backing to make the move happen this time round.
He’s started just two of Tottenham’s last 14 Premier League games and clearly needs to find a new home to resurrect his career, and Crooks believes a loan bid could soon be coming his way from NUFC.
Here’s what he had to say in his latest transfer update for talkSPORT:
“Someone I think who’ll look to leave Tottenham between now and the deadline is Dele Alli.
“Clearly he lost his way under Jose Mourinho and hasn’t managed to find it as yet after only eight Premier League starts for spurs this season.
“Keep an eye out for a possible loan bid from Newcastle United.
“He’s a player that Eddie Howe tried to sign not once but twice when he was in charge of Bournemouth.
“He [Howe] didn’t have the financial power then, but clearly he does now and I think this is a move that could work out well for both player and club.
“Deli Alli needs a manager who’s going to put an arm around his shoulder and coax the obvious ability that he has out of him.
“So keep an eye on this one.”
Would you take Alli on loan until the end of the season?
Yes definitely, He can provide the ammo for wood and when fit Wilson
