Newcastle make loan move for Jesse Lingard – Report

According to the Manchester Evening News, Newcastle United are making moves to sign Jesse Lingard on loan for the rest of the season.

The ‘exclusive’ claims that we are prepared to cover the Manchester United midfielder’s £100,000-a-week wages in full, stating that it could be the Red Devils final opportunity to recoup any sort of fee given the player is out of contract at the end of the season after refusing to sign a new deal.

Lingard will not be involved in their trip to Brentford tonight due to an ankle injury and MEN report that he is ‘yet to commit’ to a potential move to Tyneside, with the player said to ‘favour’ a return to London following a successful spell at West Ham 12 months ago.

The England international was expected to remain at Old Trafford until the summer, however it’s said a move to St James’ Park could now ‘benefit all parties.’

We would offer the 29-year-old regular game time and an opportunity to impress ahead of the World Cup in November, while Man Utd would receive a loan fee, also having his wages covered in full.

MEN also suggest that there’d be no option to buy, meaning Lingard could assess all options as a free agent in the summer; whether we stay up or not.
