Rangnick responds to Jesse Lingard rumours after NUFC bid for Man Utd midfielder – Video

Ralf Rangnick has confirmed Newcastle United’s interest in Jesse Lingard, but suggests we aren’t the only club keen to sign the midfielder.

This comes after The Telegraph revealed last night that we are pushing to bring the 29-year-old to St James’ Park after a second loan bid, with the player said to be reluctant to commit to arrive on a permanent deal due to our current league position.

Speaking ahead of Manchester United’s clash with West Ham at Old Trafford tomorrow, the German certainly didn’t rule out an exit, suggesting anything could happen in the final 10 days of the transfer window, however it seems the final decision doesn’t lie with him.

Despite just 89 minutes of Premier League football all season, Rangnick did praise the England international’s performances in training, saying it’s clear to him that Lingard is a ‘really good player.’

Here’s what he had to say when speaking to the press just a few moments ago:

“With regards to Jessie it’s the same as with quite a few other players.

“He’s, he’s a really good player, I can see that in every training session.

“And for me, it’s normal that other clubs like for example, Newcastle show interest in him, but I’m not the one who is dealing with that.

“So I know that there might be some interest from other clubs.

“But if you asked me now, what will happen in the next 10 days until the closure of the window? I cannot answer that question I’m afraid.”

West Ham and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Lingard, however it’s thought Man Utd have no interest in letting him join sides competing with them for a place in the top four.
