Toon target left out of squad on Sunday – One to watch over final week of transfer window?

Yesterday, an ‘exclusive’ from Football Insider claimed that Dele Alli had told friends he was keen to complete a January move to Newcastle Unite in a bid to resurrect his stuttering career at Spurs.

Now, just 24 hours later, The Athletic have revealed that he won’t be named in Antonio Conte’s squad for their trip to Chelsea later on today.

Their Chief football correspondent David Ornstein has also confirmed that Spurs are ‘open’ to letting the 25-year-old leave on loan, with him starting just two Premier League games under the new manager.

That said, it seems this could be a deal that goes to the wire, with The Athletic believing that there’s a ‘good chance’ he leaves Tottenham late in the window, meaning this could be one to watch for us NUFC fans if news of our interest is true.

This comes after it was reported both on Friday and Saturday that we look set to turn our attentions to Alli if a move for Jesse Lingard fails to materialise.

The Man Utd midfielder is said to be one of our top targets, alongside Diego Carlos, but it seems the player may be reluctant to join us on a permanent deal, while a loan doesn’t appeal to the Red Devils now he’s due to be out of contract at the end of the season.

  1. Another waster that just takes up space on the Subs Bench – two more Burnley signings and we’ll have the highest paid bunch of losers in the world.

Need a MANAGER to get a grip of the over paid wasters we’ve got
