The Newcastle United squad have now landed in Saudi Arabia ahead of their warm weather training camp in the Middle East.
Footage has now emerged online of the players, staff and Eddie Howe arriving at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, with co-owner Amanda Staveley also spotted with the squad.
The club confirmed yesterday that we will be in Saudi until Saturday, 29th January, with us set to face Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Ittihad in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday, 28th January a day before our return to the UK.
Howe insisted last week that it was a footballing decision to make the mid-season trip, saying we will ‘train hard’, benefit from ‘first-class’ facilities and look to build on our team spirit following Saturday’s huge 1-0 win at Leeds.
The trip also comes due to our break in competitive action, with our next Premier League game a clash with Everton at St James’ Park two weeks tomorrow (8th February).
Here’s all the videos that have emerged on social media of the squad arriving in KSA, with the likes of Jamaal Lascelles, Paul Dummett, Jacob Murphy, Jonjo Shelvey, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Amanda Staveley, Eddie Howe and Joelinton all caught on camera at the airport:

Hope there are enough people back home to conclude the vital signings of at least one centre back, another striker and a quality midfielder. If we fail to complete these signings we will be relegated… Simple as. I’m all for a warm weather training break but the priority this week is signing new players, the job hasn’t been half done yet. Failure to strengthen in these key areas won’t be forgiven by the Toon Army.
