Newcastle announce new signing as powerful striker pens 18-month deal after trial period

Newcastle United have confirmed that young striker Isaac Westerndorf has signed for the club on an initial 18-month contract after a successful trial.

The 19-year-old impressed at Non-league level for Barking and has been on trial over the past few months, featuring in a few U23 fixtures and finding the net in both.

After impressing within the club’s Academy, Newcastle have announced that he’s now signed a deal until the summer of 2023 after he was named in NUFC’s U23 squad for tonight’s Premier League 2 clash with Nottingham Forest.

He actually scored the first goal of this new era at Newcastle back in October last year, bagging in a 4-0 win over Birmingham after latching onto the end of a Jonjo Shelvey through ball.

The big man showed his quality again just a few days after his opening goal for the club, scoring one and assisting another in a 3-1 win over Newcastle Benfield for our U23s.

Good luck to him – let’s hope he’s knocking on the first-team door before too long!

  1. That’s fine, encouraging one for the future. BUT the urgent need remains what it was on 31st Dec.. WE NEED TWO CENTRE BACKS, ONE AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM, IF WE ARE TO HAVE ANY CHANCE OF AVOIDING RELEGATION. And please will my beloved Mags stop doing their searches via the media, its driving everyone mad. Under ➡ Ashley we were sickened by the knowledge that we’d sign nobody of quality. Under the new regime fans are getting sickened by having hopes raised then dashed almost every day and we are becoming a bit of a laughing stock.
