Newcastle in advanced talks to appoint Eddie Howe’s nephew – Report

According to The Mail, Newcastle United look set to appoint Eddie Howe’s nephew – Andy – into a leading recruitment role at the club.

Andy worked under his uncle, Eddie, during their time together at Bournemouth, with him the club’s head of first team domestic player scouting; something which led the Cherries to the signing of Aaron Ramsdale for just £800,000 back in 2017.

After confirming his departure from the South Coast side just a few days ago, The Mail report that his arrival at St James’ Park is ‘imminent’, with talks said to be at an advanced stage.

Andy Howe announced he was leaving Bournemouth after 10 years at the club over the weekend, posting the following on social media ahead of his proposed move to Tyneside:

‘After an amazing 10 years within Bournemouth’s recruitment department, I’ve decided it’s time for my next challenge.

‘As a Bournemouth lad, lad and a Bournemouth supporter this club has been a part of my life from the very beginning and will always hold a special place in my heart.

‘The 10 years have flown by but what a 10 years it has been!! The journey has been incredible and like everyone else I’m proud to have played a part in that journey.

‘I want to thank everyone within the football club from past to present but more importantly to wish the club continued success.’
