Newcastle launch huge new loan bid – Club ‘expect it to be accepted’ – Report

Newcastle have submitted a mammoth £10m loan bid Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard, according to new reports.

This comes from Graeme Bailey – the former Sky Sports reporter now at 90min – who claims that we ‘expect’ our latest offer to be accepted by the Red Devils.

That said, he reports that the final decision will rest with Lingard himself, with him holding all the cards over his future now he is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

Bailey states that we are also prepared to offer him a whopping £150,000-per-week to bring him to St James’ Park, along with a ‘huge bonus’ should we maintain our Premier League status.

This seems like a ludicrous fee and a huge amount of money to spend on a loan signing, however it could be the difference between staying up and going down if he can have anything like the impact he had at West Ham last season.

He bagged nine goals and five assists in 16 appearances for the Hammers last season. If he can come anywhere close to those figures at Newcastle United, a £10m loan fee could easily be justified!

  1. Nonsense money for someone who doesn’t seem to be buying into it like Trippier?
If he comes it will be purely for the ?!
He went to West Ham the last time he had a chance to join us, so they are welcome to him.

    Sorry but you’re talking nonsense.

The lad is an outstanding footballer who will not only score and create us goals, but will take some of the heat from ASM.

I think WHU still want him but on a free in the summer as they need CBs and a CF more urgently.
But Man Utd don’t want to lose him for nothing & wont loan him for a few million.

Lingard wants regular football now to try & push for the England squad – that’s his main motivation at 29. This could be his last chance at an international tournament squad.

It would be a brilliant signing if we can pull it off.
