Senegalese star available for €10m – Newcastle ‘very interested’, along with Burnley, West Ham & Palace

Newcastle United are showing late interest in a January move for Senegalese striker Bamba Dieng, according to reports in France.

French outlet RMC Sport claim that Marseille will reluctantly look to sell the 21-year-old in the final week of the transfer window in a bid to balance their books.

The report states that he is available if an offer of at least €10m arrives between now and next Monday’s 11pm deadline, revealing that Newcastle are ‘very interested’, while Burnley are the latest club to enter the race after West Ham and Crystal Palace also made enquiries.

The Daily Express‘ Ryan Taylor has since backed up these claims, saying we’ve been in talks with his agent and may even be able to sign the forward on a loan-to-buy deal.

Dieng recently signed an extension until June 2024 and is currently representing Senegal at the African Cup of Nations, scoring in his country’s 2-0 win over Cape Verde on Tuesday to send them into a quarter final set to take place this Sunday.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with a move for the versatile forward, with Sky Sports reporting earlier this month that we’d been offered the chance to sign him alongside Serie A side Atalanta.

Here’s a snippet of Dieng in action:
