Bruno Guimaraes set to sign 5-year deal & NUFC have £25m bid rejected by Sporting Lisbon – Reports

According to The Chronicle, Bruno Guimaraes looks set to sign a five-year deal at Newcastle United – while reports in Portugal claim we’ve had a £25m bid turned down for Sporting Lisbon’s Gonçalo Inácio.

Lee Ryder reports that a delegation of NUFC officials are currently in Brazil to complete the ‘usual formalities’ after the club had a bid accepted by Lyon yesterday.

The player is in the process of completing his medical in Belo Horizonte, with agent fees being tied up ahead of his seemingly imminent move to St James’ Park.

Elsewhere, Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda has released a Saturday afternoon ‘exclusive’, claiming we’ve had a €30m (£25m) bid rejected for Gonçalo Inácio.

The Sporting Lisbon centre-back was tentatively with a late move to Newcastle late last night, but it seems he’ll be staying in Portugal for now.

Sepulveda claims that we will continue to monitor the highly-rated 20-year-old, suggesting we could reignite our interest in the summer should we stay up.
