Newcastle step up attempts to sign FOUR more before 11pm Monday with new £10m bid – Report

Newcastle have launched a new improved bid for Brighton’s Dan Burn, according to The Mail.

With Bruno Guimaraes’ arrival believed to be imminent following a medical in Brazil, the same piece also reports that Eddie Howe is still pushing to bring in FOUR more signings before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

The report states that he still wants two new centre-backs – and is hoping Burn will be one of them – along with a left-back and striker.

Back to Burn, claims of a new bid for the 6ft 7′ defender have been confirmed elsewhere, with The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder also confirming that we’ve launched a new bid for the 29-year-old.

The Mail state that he’s eager to return back to the North-East, being born in Blyth and a boyhood Newcastle fan who was on the club’s books before his release as an 11-year-old.

After our £8m bid was rejected a few days ago, let’s hope £10m is enough to tempt Brighton into a sale!

Here’s what Howe had to say about potential incomings when speaking from Saudi Arabia yesterday:

“From my perspective, I don’t imagine that (Guimaraes) will be the end. Whether that turns to reality, who knows. It can be unpredictable. But we’re hoping and working hard to improve the squad.

“The frustration is more with the window, not the people behind the scenes. I see how hard they are working.

“But I am looking forward to Tuesday (day after deadline). I like to coach. It will be nice to know that this is the group we have – and I would back us to get the job (survival) done.’

  1. Obviously, it’s a game of confusion, with certain clubs having followed the top 17 clubs in refusing to deal with them (transfers) why I have no idea !
It would increase the value of the league as most are owned by billionaires also .
Never mind there will be repercussions , that they will be remembered, naturally.
