Allan Saint-Maximin’s staggering response when asked about his future under NUFC’s new owners

Allan Saint-Maximin has declared that he will definitely stay at Newcastle…if the club can help him win the Ballon D’Or!

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Times, our maverick Frenchman has explained how our Saudi-backed buyers have helped change his outlook on his future – providing we stay up.

He also feels that we are no longer a stepping stone now Mike Ashley has been replaced by wealthy new owners, believing we finally have the money to keep our best players.

His words do hint towards a possible exit if we were to get relegated this season, however, but he insists that his ‘dream’ is to become a success on Tyneside.

Here’s what he had to say when asked about his future at the club:

If I can achieve my dream and my goal in Newcastle, I will stay for sure,”

“But if I cannot, you need to think, too, about yourself, so we will see after this season what is to happen.”

“I want to win the Ballon D’Or at Newcastle.

“It’s no longer just about ‘come to Newcastle, stay for two or three years and then leave…and Newcastle make money…and then they bring in another player.

“Now we have the money to keep all the best players.”

Maxi has been our most lively attacking outlet so far this season, scoring five goals and creating four others in 20 games.
