Bruno Guimaraes has released a brilliant video to announce his big money move to Newcastle United – and it’s a brutal watch for Arsenal fans!
The Brazilian – who signed a four-and-a-half-year deal this afternoon – opts for the caption ‘a beautiful chapter is coming’ and starts the video with newspaper headlines which references Arsenal’s interest in the midfielder at the beginning of the transfer window.
As you can see below, several snippets of paper talk pop up, claiming the Gunners are facing competition for his signature, but they are then followed by him outside St James’ Park in a Newcastle United shirt!
Watched the brilliant clip below, highlighting what a good PR team he seems to have behind him!
A brilliant video and an even better signing!
Here’s some stats and quotes that help explain why so many in the world of football believe this is an incredible coup for Newcastle United:
- Bruno Guimaraes is one of only three players in Europe’s top 5 leagues (10+ starts) to average 1.5+ tackles, 1.5+ dribbles, 1.5+ key passes and 1.5+ fouls won per game this season.
- Lyon legend Juninho Pernambucano describes Guimaraes as “a complete midfielder” who “sees things before others and takes risks”.
- Only Dimitri Payet (45) and Kylian Mbappé (37) have created more chances from open play in Ligue 1 this season than Bruno Guimarães (33).
- Guimaraes averages more ball carries per 90 minutes (22) than any midfielder in Ligue 1.

Has a bit of a Ben Arfa look about him but without the pace.
He’s got an eye for a pass but he certainly won’t get the time on the ball here that he got in France.
Jonjo will sort him out.
