According to reports on Sunday night, Atletico Madrid’s Renan Lodi could be ‘one to watch’ for Newcastle United fans on deadline day.
Jacque Talbot – a journalist at the Daily Star – claims that we have been showing interest in the Brazilian international, with us keen to sign a left-back before 11pm tomorrow.
He reports that Atletico are demanding €40m (£33m) for the defender who will know Kieran Trippier very well from their time together in Spain, often starting together in the same side that were crowned La Liga winners last season.
The 23-year-old will also be very aware of Bruno Guimaraes; an international teammate who he played alongside during their time together with Brazilian side, Athletico Paranaense.
Talbot reports that a deal for Lodi may well pick up over the summer, however it seems we might just make a deadline day move for the full-back – especially when he’s found himself in and out of Diego Simeone’s side in recent weeks.
At 40 Euros he would be a steal!
