NUFC confirm loan exit – and the players’ new club look set to land two Toon targets by 11pm

Newcastle United have confirmed that Freddie Woodman has sealed a deadline day loan move to Bournemouth.

The 24-yer-old will now spend the second half of the 2021/22 season on the South Coast, playing under former Mag Scott Parker in his push for automatic promotion (they are currently 3rd).

Woodma won the Championship’s Golden Glove award last season, having recorded 12 clean sheets at Swansea during the 2020/21 season.

He actually started this season in goal for Steve Bruce, playing in each of our opening four Premier League games while Darlow and Dubravka were out, however he’s only been named on the bench once since then.

It looks like Woodman will also be joined at the Vitality by a few names who’ve been heavily linked with Newcastle this month, with both Norwich’s Todd Cantwell and Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips closing in on surprise loan moves.

In the end, however, it looks like we’re set to sign Brighton’s Dan Burn instead of Phillips, while a late move for Lingard appeals over Cantwell – a player who has barely got a kick at Norwich this season.

Good luck, Freddie!
