According to The Athletic’s George Caulkin, Newcastle United’s incoming transfer business looks set to be wrapped up if and when Dan Burn, Matt Targett and Hugo Ekitike complete moves to Tyneside today.
He claims that a ‘senior source’ at NUFC has told him that this triple signing should bring the curtain down on our January spending – which could end at £115m if all three go through.
Caulkin accepts that it’s a ‘never say never’ situation with 11 hours still remaining until the window slams shut, however it looks like we’ll stop at six signings and focus on outgoings soon.

- Chris Wood – £25m
- Bruno Guimaraes – £40m
