Bruno Guimaraes set to meet Toon teammate on Wednesday morning before flying to the UK

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Newcastle United new boy Bruno Guimaraes will meet with fellow Mag Miguel Almiron in Mineirão.

The 24-year-old completed a £40m move to St James’ Park over the weekend, however he’s remained in South America with the Brazil squad ahead of another crucial World Cup Qualifier.

At half past midnight tonight, Brazil face Paraguay – a game that Miggy Almiron’s side simply have to win if they’re to keep their faint hopes alive of qualifying for Qatar, with Los Guaraníes having lost four of their last five qualifiers.

After the 12.30am kick off in Mineirão, our brand new Brazilian is expected to finally fly to the UK, with many believing it’ll be Thursday (at the earliest) when he touches down on Tyneside.

Should he be named in Brazil’s starting line up, hopefully the Paraguayan’s go easy on him and he arrives fit and well ahead of our huge clash with Everton a week today!

Guimaraes was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw between Brazil and Ecuador last Thursday – a feisty affair which featured two red cards, five yellows and some pretty tasty ‘tackles’.
