Howe reveals what he’s already noticed about Bruno Guimaraes in training – Exciting comments

Eddie Howe has revealed some of the qualities Bruno Guimaraes has already shown in training, saying he is a ‘great character’ and a player the squad already loves.

The NUFC boss has praised his calmness, composure, creativity, positioning off the ball and intelligence on the ball, stating that he constantly ‘wants the ball’ and is an ‘outstanding technician’ who can bring control to our midfield.

That said, Howe has warned fans that it might take the Brazilian time to settle into life on Tyneside, believing the transition is always tougher for players arriving from overseas.

Howe ‘can’t wait’ to see him in a black and white shirt and feels he’ll offer our midfield everything it has lacked so far this season, but refuses to confirm that he’ll start against Everton tomorrow.

Here’s what he’s had to say about our new £40m man today, followed by what he also told BBC Newcastle:

“There’s always a period of adjustment, even if you’ve already been in the Premier League.

“The adjustment is bigger if you come from a different league so with Bruno we’ll have to assess him and decide how quickly we transition him into the team.”

“He’s certainly someone we love and can’t wait to see him play in a Newcastle shirt.

“He’s going to bring some great qualities to us.

“He’s got that calmness, composure. He’s got a creative eye. He’s a very intelligent footballer. His positioning is very good. He wants the ball continually.”

“I think we need this in our midfield so I’m really pleased with him.”

  1. Reading all the statements from everybody it appears that we’ve spent 90 million quid on talented players in January but we don’t actually intend playing them in the team until next season.

That should help us stay up.
