The brilliant Bruno Guimaraes admission that should be music to the ears of NUFC fans…

One thing Newcastle United have sorely lacked over the past few years is a winners mentality.

That’s sometimes stemmed from the top down, whether it be from our unambitious former owner or previous manager who often seemed content with a draw, however it’s something that’s also impacted the players.

Our inability to see out games or play with confidence after taking the lead has been a huge issue this season. We are crying out for winners and it looks like we’ve got one in Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian has admitted he is ‘obsessed’ with winning and ‘can’t stand losing’, suggesting he can give us that competitive edge we’ve so often been missing this season.

Here’s what he had to say when speaking to NUFC TV about his determination to bring success to St James’ Park:

“I can’t stand losing.

“I get really annoyed with any type of defeat, on and off the pitch.

“I’m obsessed with winning.

“Given Newcastle’s project and all the information they’ve provided me with, we’ll have a great team here.”

A short snippet, yet quotes that say so much about his attitude both on and off the pitch.

Let’s hope he can drive us on to victory against Everton tonight!
