Frank Lampard singles out NUFC player for special praise after Everton’s 3-1 defeat at SJP

Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Allan Saint-Maximin after his Everton side fell to a 3-1 defeat at St James’ Park.

The former Chelsea boss believes the Frenchman is “unplayable at any level of football” when he plays as he did last night.

The winger ran rings around the Toffees in a stunning second half display, with him not bagging the assist for Ryan Fraser’s goal but also setting up two first half chances for Joelinton, putting Murphy through on goal late on and being unlucky not to score after cutting in from the left.

Here’s what Lampard had to say, praising the atmosphere inside St James’ Park and Saint-Maximin’s display:

“You have to give Newcastle credit.

“They came out firing and the crowd were lively.

“They were very effective in the way they played.

“We expected crosses. We expected balls into Wood.”

“Allan Saint-Maximin is pretty unplayable at any level of football, the way he played tonight.”

That takes our mercurial Frenchman up to five goals and four assists for the season. In 21 appearances in a struggling side, nine goal involvements is pretty impressive – especially when some have questioned his final ball.

He doesn’t always work hard enough, needs to play to the whistle and sometimes know when to release the ball – not do another step over – but he is one hell of a talent and truly unplayable on his day!
