Co-owners Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben both took the Twitter after yesterday’s big win over Aston Villa to pay tribute to the team and the Toon Army.
Both mentioned how ‘proud’ they were to see us grind out another massive three points at St James’ Park, with Ghodoussi – Amanda Staveley’s husband – praising our ‘incredible resilience.’
The victory saw us move four points clear of the relegation zone after results went our way over the weekend, with Burnley, Norwich and Watford all losing.
Two wins in a week and a superb defensive effort, with Alan Shearer picking out debutant Dan Burn as his man of the match – and rightly so!
The big man didn’t put a foot wrong, being calm on the ball, dominant in the air and reading the play superbly throughout.
