Exciting comments on Elliot Anderson as Bristol Rovers fans rave about NUFC star on Tuesday night

It’s not taken long for Elliot Anderson to show Bristol Rovers fans what a huge talent he really is.

When Newcastle United confirmed Elliot Anderson had secured a deadline day loan move to the League Two side I was both happy to see him heading out for some senior football but also slightly baffled he was heading to the fourth tier of English football.

After interest from Luton (Championship) and a clutch of League One sides also linked, it seemed a funny one that loan manager Shola Ameobi had allowed him to join Joey Barton’s Bristol Rovers.

Nevertheless, it seems he’s just put in another superb display on Tuesday (after outshining Mansfield’s Matty Longstaff over the weekend), bagging an assist and running the show in a 2-0 win over Sutton United last night.

Here’s some comments we found on social media, showing exactly what Rovers fans had to say about the 19-year-old’s performance:

A contender for performance of the season. Certainly one of the most cohesive. Elliot Anderson excellent. Goals will follow soon, me thinks. Some talent.

Elliot Anderson will easily be playing Championship football next season, far to good for League 2.

Elliot Anderson, different gravy.

Played superbly tonight. Cramped up a bit last few minutes as he’d put in a right shift. Do him good to adjusting to senior football. The lad has great feet and moves the ball well.

The Geordie boy was electric, excelling on the half-turn in particular. Claimed the assist for the opening goal and should have had at least one of his own if not for a spot of profligacy. Doubtless, Anderson will be frustrated, but he should be pleased with a good night’s work where he caused plenty of problems for the Sutton defence.

Unreal talent. We have a decent hard working bunch here this part of the season could get very interesting!

That bit of skill in the first half was unreal put the defender on his backside!

Makes football look easy.

He has worked hard since his first appearance and is starting to influence play more and more. Obviously a real talent, with a mixture of technical ability and determination. Glad to have him on board.

Geezer looks like he has all the time in the world every time.

Elliott Anderson. What a player. Incredible talent and potential.

By far the best player on the field kid is a baller.

Definitely more of a creator but he has that bit of needle & strength in him which make many players in that style weak on the ball. He has dropped into tier 4 with us and isn’t getting bullied by clumpy, experienced old-heads. Would think a Champ loan next yr would suit him well.
