Steve Bruce eyeing bargain move for NUFC talent as Baggies boss plans summer reunion – Report

According to new reports, Steve Bruce is looking to bring Sean Longstaff to West Brom this summer.

The midfielder is due to be out of contract this summer, as things stand, and Football League World claim that he is receiving interest from his former NUFC boss.

Longstaff is believed to be in talks with the club over a new deal, however no resolution has been found despite months of discussions – meaning he could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has only started two Premier League games out of a possible 13 under Eddie Howe, with his last appearances coming from the bench in that 1-0 win over Leeds.

He performed well that day, however he is currently behind Shelvey, Willock, Joelinton and Guimaraes in the pecking order – a situation which could only get worse for the local lad if we stay up and spend big this summer.

As for Bruce, he needs all the help he can get based on the awful start he’s made to his new job at The Hawthorns.

In his four games in charge, they’ve lost three, drawn once and scored just one goal, with them losing at Middlesbrough last night after taking the lead at The Riverside.

  3. Why does Bruce keep playing the Cart Horse, Carroll. He is just like one when he breaks into a run. Compare him with any Striker in the Championship, in a race the length of the field, he would just about get to the centre spot when all the others will have finished the race. Useless, waste of time.
