Howe issues update on Allan Saint-Maximin, Ryan Fraser & Javier Manquillo ahead of Brentford trip

Eddie Howe has issued an injury update ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Brentford, sharing some mixed news on the fitness front.

Starting with Allan Saint-Maximin, Howe insists that his calf injury is ‘not serious’ – despite the fact he’s been in France for ‘intensive treatment’ – and states a ‘very late call’ will be made as to whether he can play tomorrow.

As for Javier Manquillo, he’s come through training sessions this week, however it’s said he still isn’t ‘100% fit’ – suggesting he is close but still not ready to start on Saturday.

The good news is that Ryan Fraser has been passed fit to play after limping off at West Ham last weekend, with Eddie Howe confirming the Scot is ‘fine.’

Here’s what Howe’s had to say on all three, starting with his update on the absent Saint-Maximin.

Howe on Saint-Maximin:

“We’re going to make a very late call on him.

It’s not serious, as we said initially.

He’s been away [in France] for some intensive treatment.

We hope he’s back in the team and making an impact very soon.

When that’ll be is slightly unclear.”

“He’s in a good place mentally and is very eager to return.”

Howe on Manquillo:

“Manquillo came through a couple of training sessions this week.

I wouldn’t say he’s 100 per cent fit but he’s certainly getting closer to being fit and available.”

Howe on Fraser:

“He will be OK.

“He came off the pitch [at West Ham] but it looks like he will be fine.”
