The club have tweeted out pitch-side footage of Joelinton travelling the length of the pitch to celebrate with fans as well as a brilliant dressing room photo following a 2-0 victory at Brentford.
The Brazilian was set up by Ryan Fraser in the 33rd minute and headed home to put Newcastle 1-0 up, handing him a goal his recent displays have richly deserved.
The newly-found midfielder then sprinted the length of the pitch for a passionate celebration with the away fans – a sign of the belief Eddie Howe has instilled into him.
Since the manager’s arrival, Joelinton’s transformation into a dominant midfielder has caught the eye of many within the club and around the league.
Here’s the spine-tingling moment captured by the club’s media team:
After seven games unbeaten – four wins and three draws – the team are now in their best form since 2011.
Many of the squad are also hitting their best individual form – the likes of Ryan Fraser, Joelinton and Fabian Schar quickly becoming fan favourites after a difficult start.
A team photo from within the dressing room was also released – similar to the one following the team’s first victory of the season against Burnley – emphasising the togetherness and belief of the squad.
No wonder we’ve been in trouble this season, if that’s as fast as he can “sprint”.
