Newcastle to launch £50m bid for Bundesliga star & Premier League striker also a target – Report

According to The Mail, Newcastle are preparing a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby – while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another target.

The report claims that we are willing to pay £50m for highly-rated Frenchman who has fast become one of the most dangerous attackers in the Bundesliga in recent seasons.

It’s believed we’ve been tracking the 22-year-old for a ‘number of months’, with The Mail stating that we had a scout watching him in Bayer Leverkusen’s 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich on Saturday afternoon.

Diaby – a lightning quick winger able to play down either flank – has bagged 15 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season; electric form that helped him earn his first call up for the France national team last year.

Interestingly, the same piece also claims that we have registered an interest in Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as Eddie Howe is keen to bolster his attacking options – despite a £25m move for Chris Wood in January.

A summer move for the England international would be another statement of intent, with Arsenal also heavily linked with the 24-year-old target man who bagged 21 goals for the Toffees last season.

  1. Biggest problem Nufc will have going forward is either collecting players they dont need or getting rid of players they dont want becausethey now have the cash, it will be a fine balancing act.
