NUFC loanee scores again – Watch here as he bags crucial goal to make it two in two games

Matty Longstaff scored his second goal in as many games for Mansfield on Friday night – helping the League Two side pick up back to back wins over Bradford and Exeter.

The East Midlands club now find themselves sitting in fifth place and fighting for an automatic promotion – eyeing a place in League One for the first time in their history.

Following an unsuccessful loan spell at Aberdeen during the first half of the season – where he only made five appearances – the midfielder completed a loan move to Mansfield in the final few moments of the January transfer window.

You can watch his latest goal for The Stags here, with his strike coming just after the minute mark in the clip below:

He’s had to drop down a fair few divisions, but it’s good to see Matty playing football again and finding the net.

The academy graduate started his first team career with a lot of promise – scoring that famous winner against Manchester United back in 2019 – and many fans are hoping that a spell in the lower leagues will help him to kick on.

With the likes of Joe Willock and Joelinton finding form, as well as the arrival of Brazilian international Bruno Guimares, Longstaff will have his work cut out for him if he is to impress Eddie Howe and work his way back into the first team.
