Alan Shearer has named Fabian Schar in his Premier League Team of the Week following the latest round of top flight fixtures.
The Toon legend said the Swiss international was his ‘man of the match’ in a tweet soon after Saturday’s game, with him brilliant at both ends in our 2-1 win over Brighton.
Not only did he score our all important second with a powerful header in the 14th minute, he spent the next 76 putting in a disciplined defensive display to help us to another massive three points.
It is now becoming a real theme to see Shearer select NUFC players in his star 11’s each week, with Schar now the SIXTH Mag to be selected over our past four games:
