Newcastle eyeing surprise move for England international keen to reignite career – Report

Newcastle are ‘keeping a close eye’ on Marcus Rashford’s situation at Manchester United according to 90min – who report that West Ham, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are also keen on the forward.

With his contract expiring in 2023, the 24-year-old is said to be frustrated at not being able to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Old Trafford, leaving him to consider a summer move away.

The England International has started just nine Premier League games so far this season (18 appearances in total) with only four goals and two assists to his name.

There is believed to be a fear from Rashford that current manager Ralf Rangnick – who is set to stay on past this season in a consultancy role – does not see a future for him at the club.

While Manchester United have the option to extend his contract for another 12 months and the player is willing to wait to see who replaces Rangnick, there is still room for concern going forward.

The player was expected to start the Manchester Derby, with Ronaldo out injured, but the German coach decided to play Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes as false-nines instead.

Despite this, Rangnick has publicly defended Rashford and his decision not to start him, however it feels like a summer move could be on the cards.
