Laughable from Ralph Hasenhuttl as bitter Saints boss continues to moan about NUFC – Video

Ralph Hasenhuttl is at it again.

After moaning that our scheduled trip to Southampton was postponed in January due to rising Covid cases in the NUFC camp, he then stated a few weeks later that it “would not really be fair” if our winter signings were allowed to play when the fixture was finally rearranged.

Well, we play the Saints tomorrow night and he’s been speaking to the press about a game that has clearly got under his skin.

Here’s what he had to say, claiming his team will now be up against a “completely different team”…

He says “this doesn’t effect us, definitely not” – but his constant comments, which suggest some sort of injustice, indicate otherwise…

Also, it’s interesting that he admits Southampton are also in a much better place than they were two months ago following a superb run of form, so it’s hard to know why he continues to bring this up like it’s worked massively in our favour.

Hopefully we use this as pre-match motivation and go on to win it via a Matt Targett corner that’s headed home by big Dan Burn…

  1. Saints fan here. Ralph keeps being asked by journalists who are looking for a story on this so please stop taking offence! It was frustrating for everyone at the time as it seemed many teams were using covid as an excuse and we played every game even when we had COVID in the camp. We also suffered last year and had to play youngsters . You need to ask the journalists why they keep trying to bait him into and argument with Newcastle and starting some sort of grudge match. As saints fans we have always respected Newcastle and their fans and had some great games down the years. Please don’t fall into the trap as we are tired of these questions too!

  2. You say that Dean but there’s no excusing the fact that he is moaning whether you like it or not. He can decline to answer the question. There’s no mistaking the resentment that came out of his mouth whether asked the question or not.

I appreciate what you’re saying mate, but Ralph was the one who started (and continues) with this narrative.

It was him who created the “it’s not fair if NUFC’s January signings play in the rearranged fixture” malarkey, and for someone who claims to not care about it now, he talks about it a lot…

  4. Olly – you know me as a regular posted on here & obvious Newcastle fan.

Dean – fair play for posting mate & I don’t think there is any bad feeling between the 2 sets of fans.

I can totally understand what Ralph is saying in fairness. We are in a far stronger position now than when we should have faced them – clubs were definitely taking advantage of the COVID delays – Arsenal more than any other club imo. Saying in one breath they didn’t have the players whilst at the same time loaning a load out.

Did we take advantage of it too – probably if we are being honest. But would Ralph & the Saints done the same thing in our shoes – too right they would ??‍♂️.

I think it will be a good game tomorrow & looking forward to watching it – best of luck Dean lad ??

  5. Well it certainly worked and you beat us with goals from 2 new signings in Bruno and Wood and and man of the match in my eyes was Dan Burn!

To be fair you may be correct in that we’d have done the same thing in the same situation so no argument there. I think it was frustration from saints fans as on the original date we were in top form and you were definitely not and it felt like you called it off because of injuries and hid behind the Covid process. It’s certainly gone opposite ways now and a fair chance you will finish above us. Anyways best of luck for the season, I was disappointed there was some malice between the clubs as I’ve always admired Newcastle. At least it’s safe to say we will both be in the league next season so see you next year
